What to expect from our meeting

I gathered the answers to the most commonly asked questions below

Why people come and see you?

I offer a free, no-obligation 20 minutes online 'meet and greet' where we can chat a bit about what’s bringing you to therapy and a little about your background. It’s a chance for you to ask any questions you might have, and for us to get to know each other a bit better. Think of it as a way to break the ice. After our chat, you can take some time to think about whether you’d like to book a full session, and get in touch when you’re ready. I’ll also let you know if I feel I’m the right fit for you.

Our follow up sessions are one hour long and my rates are 160 per hour *.

*Rates for long term therapy may be negotiable if the cost of therapy is a barrier for your engagement.

What kind of therapies do you provide?

As a psychologist I employ a relational psychodynamic approach in my practice, drawing from attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapies such as EMDR (check more information here) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

My professional training and experience have led me to develop a deep appreciation for the therapeutic relationship with my clients. I strive to offer a space where individuals feel safe to explore the most vulnerable parts of their life story as we work together to achieve an understanding of the factors that contribute to their challenges and transform unhelpful patterns of behaviours.

My approach is grounded in attunement while also fostering insight. Together, we'll create a space that supports both self-compassion and meaningful growth.

Where do we start?

Trauma and PTSD

Relationship difficulties

Low mood

Anxiety symptoms

Major life changes such as immigration, loss and life crises

Cancellation policy

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice via email or text to 028 471 1907 if you need to cancel a session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be regarded as a missed appointment and subject to a fee or be counted as an attended session, which could reduce the number of remaining sessions funded by third parties.

Practicalities

I work with adults from all walks of life and young adults 18+. I offer in person sessions in my office in Nelson, New Zealand and online sessions for those living elsewhere.

What are your qualifications?

I completed extensive clinical training in my country of origin and I am registered with the New Zealand Psychologist Board.

I have a BA (Psychology) and PostGDip in Mental Health Specialty.

I completed Basic Training in EMDR practice.

You can read more on my work experience and training here.

How many sessions will it take?

I suggest we review our work after two or three sessions, so we can have a clearer understanding of the factors contributing to your challenges. For some people, this clarity is all they need to begin making conscious changes on their own. Others choose to continue with sessions to receive support in developing healthier, more effective ways of managing their challenges. It’s entirely up to you and what feels right for your needs. I’ll also ensure we have regular check-ins to track your goals and progress in therapy
